Corrections Policy
Last updated: January 2026
We get things wrong sometimes. What matters is what happens next. This page explains how Fieldnote handles errors when they're found.
Reporting an error
If you spot something inaccurate, outdated, or misleading in an article, tell us through our contact page. Include a link to the article and, if you can, a source for the correct information, that helps us fix it faster.
How we correct articles
Factual errors are corrected directly in the article as soon as we can verify them. For anything beyond a minor typo (a wrong figure, an outdated claim, a mischaracterized product detail), we update the article's "last updated" date so the change is visible rather than silently edited.
Significant corrections
For errors that materially change an article's conclusion (for example, a rating that no longer reflects a product after a correction, or a factual claim that changes the overall argument), we add a short note within the article itself describing what changed and why, rather than only adjusting the "last updated" date.
What we don't do
We don't quietly rewrite an article's conclusions after publication without any record of the change, and we don't remove a published article to avoid acknowledging a mistake in it.
